UC3M Referencing Guide: UNE-ISO 690

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) developed the ISO 690 Information and documentation - Guidelines for bibliographic references and citations to information resources, being translated into Spanish and adapted as UNE-ISO 690 Información y documentación. Directrices para la redacción de referencias bibliográficas y de citas de recursos de información, in May 2013 by the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR). The ISO 690 standard is known especially in the Anglo-Saxon academic world as Harvard Style. To avoid confusion, in this guide we will only refer to Harvard as a citation system in-text (name and date), and not as a bibliographic style.
